    Layer Height Issues

    hi guys , so after battling with so many issues my printer now is printing "Decent" but now im facing this layer gaps . it seems that layers have been " squeezed " to much . if i print lower than 3mm the problem seems to be worse .

    im printing ABS and i have done several changes to my printer to make sure its not hardware related . also i have done several extruder calibration and test .

    things i have done :

    Replaced threaded rods
    Replaced Extruder motor
    Adjusted belt tension
    Test different setting on Slic3r , Cura and S3D .
    leveled the bed as good as i can using ABL topography.

    so my question is . this layer gaps are common with ABS or im having Z axis issues? Skiping steps ?

    at this point i really don't know what else to check . so any help will be appreciated .

    heres some example including a temperature test that i did:

    I don't see what you mean by "layer gaps". If it's the banding seen on that fan duct, perhaps your layer height is not an even multiple of your steps per mm.

    Can you give a little more information in regards to this and how to check it?

    im printing at 0.3mm = 75 steps
    0.24mm = 60 steps
    0.2mm = 50 steps

    can layer width affects this ? i see that in s3d you can adjust your layer width. i read in other forums that this needs to be at leat 20% bigger than the nozzle diameter. so for a 0.40 nozzle should be set at least at 0.48 ?

    I am using S3D as well and have it the width set to auto, which it sets as 0.48. I normally print at 0.2mm layer heights, but sometimes do use 0.3mm.
