Gerben Eykenaar and Maarten Kurver of the Netherlands say they've spent the last year and a half optimizing a process and implementing the necessary technologies which eliminate unnecessary volume and support printing through what they call Triple D3 layer material. The process uses sheet material to provide the "perfect level" of adhesion for PLA and PS filaments and allows them to be released from other 3D printed PLA following printing of various layers. The pair, working in conjunction with industrial design experts and universities, have also developed a plug-and-play beta software product -- FHS-App -- to support the design, slicing and printing process for their technique.
