Impress your party guests with this tasty and visually appealing 3D printed hummus treat. The creative team at 3Digital Cooks, who are helping to bring digital gastronomy into the mainstream, came up with this 3D tech spin on a longstanding favorite. Lucky Hummus includes brightly colored, 3D printed hummus laid down in the shape of a four-leaf clover, with the gaps filled in with a delicious avocado purée. 3DC’s founder, Luis Rodriguez Alcalde, came up with this recipe in order to test the second generation of his 3D food printer, Pinya2, which uses compressed air for the extrusion process. The 3DC team also experimented with adding dyes to hummus and 3D printing colorful appetizers.
