Mexican maker, hobbyist, musician and professor Jaime Ruiz made his first contribution to Instructables by sharing instructions, assembly videos, and .stl files for a prosthetic device he calls the “Galileo Hand.” The prosthetic hand is a low-cost option for people with amputations who cannot afford more expensive devices. Ruiz improved on similar prosthetic devices by creating a rotating thumb that aids the user in accomplishing more precise movements like pinching and tweezing with up to three digits.
