i was just thinking we should have a full guide that gives an exhaustive list of every 3d printer, every single tech spec and perk that comes with a full pre cut out comparison list and search engine that could be updated about every 3 times a week or more and as symmetrically timed as possible

Would be great, let us know when you get the initial database built for it, I'm sure by then there will be several dozen more machines that need to be added.

Sarcasm aside, it's not a bad idea but with the number of printers out there and the rate at which new ones pop up, maintaining such a guide would be a full time job and not something that could be done as a minor side project. A community updated "wiki" would probably work better as people could all individually pitch in to keep things up to date but then you run into possible issues with accuracy.
