3D Printed Birdhouse Changes Colors When there is a Bird inside

Reginald Taylor, a designer with MyMiniFactory, has come up with a Wildlife Birdhouse, which provides a haven for birds and an aesthetically interesting view for humans who happen to look at it. He designed it to be printed using an FFF-based 3D printer, in about 7 hours, ideally using thermo-sensitive filament. That last bit is important for the design because the heat of a bird's body should be enough to change the color of the birdhouse, which Taylor notes would be interesting for children and nature classes. Check out more about this fun project in the full article: http://3dprint.com/42729/3d-printed-birdhouse/
Below is a photo of the color-changing birdhouse, as well as a look at optional seed feeders:

    thermochromatic - not thermostatic

Thermostatic - stays still when warm :-)

Yeah it's fun stuff, works great for coasters and jewellery.

But given that the birdhouse would be outside, in the uk I doubt it'd ever change colour apart from in summer.

    Cool looking birdhouse.

    But seven hours ?
Looking at the design looks like it should print with 3 layers and no infill in a lot less than 7 hours.
But can't be arsed to join yet another website just to download it :-)
