Good cheap printer for home

Hi,

Just wanted a bit of advice on a good, cheap, desktop printer for some one with no experience looking to get into 3d printing mainly as a hobby (most experience is a 3doodler lol!)

Brother HL-L2340DW is the best and cheap printer for home. It is available at a price of $100. Since it’s a laser printer, it’s well suited for running every day, sitting weeks at a time, or anything in between.

I'm going to go on and sound like a broken record and say that for now the answer is still the Printrbot Simple Metal, It's $599 but unless you want a do-it-yourself kit that's as cheap as it gets for now.

In the near future there will also be the M3D Micro and the New Matter MOD-t that will both be at least a hundred bucks cheaper than that, but they are both expected later this year for the the crowdfunding supporters and likely much later this year before going on sale to the general public.

There is the UP! mini or you would need to go for a RepRap - design which would be cheper still as you can get them in kit form. It will depend on how print-and-go you want the functionality.

Just curious, comparing the Printrbot simple metal to the Powerspec 3D Pro ($200 more) would you think it is worth the extra $200?
