LOL... yeah. I realized I had the encoder backwards. Finally swapped the pins for it this morning.
The LCD and encoder are actually separate. (bought the parts and I'm building my own panel.) If...
So, I have an Arduino Mega/RAMPS 1.4, with a 20x4 LCD panel and a rotary encoder. I am using Marlin for the code.
Everything is hooked up, code modified and compiled without any errors.
When I...
I see where you are going with this.
Look around the internet. You can find rotary counters that are designed to do just this. The usually involve a slotted wheel that goes on the shaft you are...
As an IT professional, I can verify that Antec is a good brand. You should like that power supply.
Agreeing with ronny.
Start by making sure your belts are tight. Then make sure your frame is tight.
If that all checks out, you might check that the smooth rods are straight and true.
Also...
I only see one problem. The arms will start to bow, after they get past a certain length. You'll only be able to expand the print bed to a certain point, unless you use larger diameter smooth rods....
Part of it depends on your electronics. The current RAMPS board (1.4) has hookups for two extruders. I'm not sure about other controllers.
If you're handy as circuit work, you *could* add more...
Here's the short of it:
The MakerBot is "out of the box" ready. Plug it is and start printing. The down side it that you really can't upgrade it.
The RepRaps are typically built by the owner,...
What's the resolution on the OLED? You can probablly Google for a list of vendors who carry OLED screens.
take lots of notes and pictures, please! :D
3D scanning is a lot tougher than 3D printing. Transparent and shiny surfaces even create problems for commercial 3D scanners.
Technically speaking, I don't think the hardware setup is a big...
Jeremia,
I've seen the same complaints about those sites. I was just pulling it as a reference photo, not a recommeddation on where to buy from. (my bad)
However, you can get the same item...
BK, I've seen that in several demo videos. It looks like the extruder is pulling filament to prime everything. The user will usualy just scrape it off the nozzle with a putty knife before the print...
Hmmm... interesting challenge. Since the RepRap is an Open Hardware platform, there is a feasablility to this idea.
You would have to select your metal ahead of time, and build the printer to the...
A quick Google search for '3d printing circuit boards' shows that this is being done, by a variety of methods. There appear to be several variations of material.
I may be making some mods to my...
Most people swear by this one:
http://www.dhgate.com/product/dc-12v-30a-regulated-switching-power-supply/141191611.html
It has a bed of screw terminals across the back, so you don't have to crack...
I had an Arduino Mega sitting on the shelf, so I started with that, then added the RAMPS 1.4.
I picked the RAMPS because I like the layout and the fact that I could pick the stepper drivers that I...
You're both right.
If you want to use the thermocouple, you'll need the amplifier to bring the signal up to a stable and readable level.
If you don't want to deal with the extra circuitry,...
Definitely a sweet bit of engineering.
Hopefully, you folks will be in full swing by the time I get a chance to finish building my Mendel i2. I wouldn't mind having one of these.
Greetings to all. Just joined after talking with a few folks over at the RepRap forums.
I'm new to the 3D/CNC machine world, but I have electronics and programming experience both professionally...
