Ah, I see. I used these to cover and protect the wires that run through the v-slot: http://openbuildspartstore.com/slot-cover-panel-holder/
What is that on the end of the top rail at +X?
I, too, am designing an enclosure for my printer, as it's getting relocated to the basement. I don't have any materials yet, just the plans. It'll be made out of 3/4 inch plywood, all the electronics...
It seems so. I just got a reply back from E3D regarding the nozzle separation/heatsink port separation distance. 18mm. Looks like the Chimera/Cyclops will not be usable with this extruder due to...
For those of you who are not using Auto Bed Leveling yet, here is a caliper holder I made for the i3v. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:570778 It clips onto the X axis v-slot extrusions, and lets you...
It's a dual extruder for anything you can get to fit the spacing. If the new dual hotends fit, I see no reason to not use them.
Clough42, have you seen this? http://www.filastruder.com/products/chimera-cyclops?mc_cid=20e534834f&mc_eid=a4395377f5 I hope it wouldn't be hard to get this hotend to work with your extruder,...
I've added a RasPi and a relay board to my printer, which now makes it (almost) completely controllable remotely over the internet. The only thing I cannot yet do remotely is remove the finished part...
Do an advanced search for "hexagon" and seller "clough42".
Not very much, though, as there's only about 65mm in between the two side pieces bracing the extruder shelf. Less, if you have an ABL servo. It's going to be tight.
N.B.: I am in no way trying to...
The E3D v6 will fit if the centre-centre distance is 30mm or more. That's with fan duct installed as well, to have room for the 30mm fan. http://files.e3d-online.com/v6/Drawings/V6-175.pdf
I guess that kills it for me, and anyone else who doesn't use the hexagon hotend. Unless the hexagon stuff is optional, that is...
I'd still love a parametric hotend cooling shroud like your...
It may be quicker to find a NEMA 14 model on thingiverse and print out a couple to test with, then buy the actual equipment once it's near-finalized.
Very nice clough42! I assume there will also be a printable "shelf" part to hold the two hotends, as well as a slot-mount plate? I'm looking forward to this being released. :)
edit: looking at the...
I've come up with another mod, though I haven't attempted it yet.
I plan to use the "Roller Puller" from this model http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:393870 with a 2 inch 6-32 machine screw in it,...
I remember seeing somewhere (I don't remember if it was a forum or Thingiverse or elsewhere) that someone designed a single-stepper multi-filament extruder, where each filament is routed through a...
For a dual-extruder setup on an i3v, I keep thinking the easiest route would be to print out a second set of X-carriage parts, and get 3 slightly longer bolts to go through the wheels to attach a...
Thanks to Clough42's advice, I was able to modify one of his endstop mounts to hold a 40mm fan for the Y axis stepper. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:498414
Also not really a mod, but perhaps a helpful idea for others. I got a pack of "Super Sticky" Post-its, and have mounted a pad to my power supply for an easily-accessible source of paper for whatever...
Huh... on my i3v all of the T nuts are installed with the raised part away from the centre of the extrusion. I haven't had any problem with them until I tried to use the X and Y endstop brackets made...
I think I may have figured out the problem with this, though I haven't tested it yet. I installed the T nuts as demonstrated in the MakerFarm assembly videos, with the raised threaded part up. I...
I have downloaded and printed out your X and Y brackets, but I keep having trouble mounting them. It seems I cannot get the screw tight enough to keep the bracket from moving, even after REALLY...
