It seems to me that your printer would be able to print something like those pictures show.
But it really depends on what material you're printing with, your settings, etc.

If you're using SketchUp, you could make two cubes against eachother and then subtract the model out of the middle of the cubes (half from each cube). Then just pull the two cubes apart and print...
What exactly are you trying to fix now?
Are you still trying to handle the infill or is there another problem?
Also, what filament are you printing with?

I couldn't access the photos of the prints, but I looked at the settings and agree with curious aardvark. Probably printing to cold. I'd try 220 or so. Also, sometimes the coloured PLAs don't print...
What temperature are you printing it at? Did you try increasing the extruder temperature?
