No acrylic covers. So it's basically a creator X with upgraded metal platform, and a different power...
Just following up...
I'm very impressed with the monoprice printer! Unlike the website photos, it does in fact have a metal build plate platform. It's amazing how quiet it is next to my FF...
I lived with it.
Until my platform went bad, then replaced it. Now it's much more level than the last one!
Needs new build plate and build plate harness. Also the Y-axis belt pulley bearings need to be replaced.
Otherwise rock solid printer, I've replaced only worn out/consumable items such as stepper...
I've got a FF Creator X with well over 2k hours and I have the Monoprice version sitting in a box ready to be unpacked. I bought it based on how much I've enjoyed the FF, familiarity, obviously...
Geoff what Z resolution are you normally printing at?
Now you'll never get your coke...lol
Here's a fun fact:
The FF black ABS may not actually be ABS!
I thought I would make some slurry from the useless stuff, seeing as how there is no way I am going to load it back in my machine.

With 2 kids and a full time job I don't have a while lot of time to experiment so I will rely on you guys for this one.
I have been printing mostly small parts and I have been using build/tool...
Can he make a couple of them? :)
2mm is enough to show up if you put a known straight edge on the platform to inspect gaps, like a perfectly straight tool (even ruler side of a caliper) to see if the platform is warped.
Have I...
Geoff I noticed you said in the past that you only use kapton for the build plate, can you share where you are purchasing yours? I know you do a lot of raftless prints and I would like to head in...
225 x 145 x 150 mm - that's X Y and Z right?
I printed multiple copies of the same small part successfully but the raft actually was built bigger than the build plate in the Y direction! I...
The sainsmart black ABS in the link above may be the answer for me. I printed with it last night and got ok results, at least I didn't have to STOP the print like I did with the FF black. Just got...
I never even finished a print with the stuff, I stopped it because it was goopy and awful. I knew the part quality would be horrible.
Great info guys!
Hi Peter,
Can you address the serious FF black ABS filament problem? Are the other filaments of better quality? The white ABS spool that came with my printer seems to work quite well. I ordered...
Well the ebay suggestion was for a seller in Austrailia and since Geoff said it was "ok" filament I figured I would leave that as a last resort. For now I have ordered this since it got quite a few...
Yep, this is flashforge black. I feel better now that I know its not all me. I may try the ebay guy! Thanks for the tip for sure.
Ordered some black ABS and having a really tough time trying to figure out the right settings to print with. I keep getting goopy/sloppy prints. I've played with extruder temps from 226 down to...
Geoff do you let your machine preheat and sit for a while and that's what causes this? I've noticed some issues trying to print after I let it preheat for, say an hour. It seems to print best if it...
Makes me wonder if we are trying to level our print beds using misaligned nozzles. The leveling would never end....
So that's simply a setscrew that adjusts the nozzle height?
Is the wingnut the M3 x 0.5 thread? I'm very interested to do this but haven't found a local store with these tiny wingnuts.
Would there be a benefit to leveling the platform while its hot? ...
What does this parameter actually change? Is feedrate and tool speed affected by this variable?
