Okay thanks fellas - I'll remove one extruder (I only ever use one anyway) and that'll make it a lot easier.
Thanks, that may be the best way to fix it.
And that could also easily makes things worse.
The original print head on my Flashforge played up badly a while ago so I changed it for a new one. (long story)
I thought I put all the connectors back into the right place but (from memory) the...
Slice it in half (or whatever) in software and print it out in two parts.
Glue together, problem solved.
Thanks for that. I ended up ordering the Wanhao Mk10 unit, hopefully it'll be a plug-in to the Flashforge.
A mate of mine just linked me to this, from a Wanhao printer. It looks pretty much exactly the same as the Flashforge one - Do you think I could use it instead?...
I just went to order that part - US$135 - and got to the shipping section and they want US$112 to get that tiny package to Australia!!
FFS that's ridiculous.
Hey this looks okay.

Reckon I might order that and be done with it. It also means I've got (I hope) a spare heater and...
Sheet.
I can easily live with one extruder no problems but there's still the problem of the unused one having the heater block loose on the shaft. How do I tighten it to stop it moving?
Where do I...
I have ongoing problems with the nozzles jamming and yesterday the LH one stopped printing again ...... click, click, click ..... I normally don't use the RH one so I removed the nozzle to stop it...
Superglue.
I'd print a part with minimal infill first, to get the dimensions right.
It'll take FAR less time and distort less as well. Even if you have to print five of them to get it right it'll still use...
I bought it based upon looking at a lot of videos and reviews on Youtube.
Every one of them was good. I also looked at their forum, it also seemed pretty good.
Very impressed with the Simplify3D software, it's easy to use, very configurable, and made the best print that's ever come off my machine.
See if you can, it's a crapload better than anything else I've seen.
Check out Youtube for some good instructional vids on it.
I haven't used my printer much since it was giving poor results.
I got fed up last night and pulled the print head apart only to find why!
I've also got that Simplify3D software to run it now,...
I hear they can be a bit 'sticky'.
*groan ......*
Possibly not such a bad thing as it allows the HBP to heat-soak out to the edges for longer.
240° is waaaay too hot for PLA. It likes something like 180° or so I think ....?
Minor update on that blocked extruder I had - I wanted to use the Flashforge to print a model rocket nosecone for a friend so decided to have a better go at unblocking it.
Heated the nozzle up to...
Not relevant to PLA but one thing I've found that often helps with ABS printing is to pre-heat the platform for a good 10 - 20 minutes once it reaches the right temperature, to make sure the outer...
It seems to be quite similar to my UP printer, so it should be something I can do pretty easily.
Yep, that simple.
Thanks yet again - I'll eventually run out of daft questions mate. :)
