I like Moment of Inspiration (MoI.) It's a NURBS modeler, sort of a scaled down version of Rhino.

Thanks for the laugh.
Because he's not trying to sell it.
Bad analogy. George Lucas didn't base his characters on actual people. He owns the copyright to the names and appearance of those characters. If...
The Transamerica tower is missing, and they have buildings there that don't yet exist. I think this is a fictionalized version of what it could look like in the future. It's still pretty neat,...
Send it out to someplace like i.materialize or Moddler or Shapeways. :p Seriously though, high-end finish requires high-end machines. Instead of making the models yourself, have you thought...
A 3D printer is basically just a 3-axis CNC machine with an extruder on it instead of a router. Do a Google search on DIY CNC Machine and you'll find lots of ideas. The main difference is that...
The number of printers in people's homes is pretty small. Quadrupling a small number still leaves you with a fairly small number.

Make it three. I turn 50 tomorrow and I think 3D printers are the neatest thing since sliced bread.

FDM machines just don't pass muster for the types of models I usually want to create. I want a finish that's close to the injected-molded styrene models that I'm used to building. I designed the HO...
I once saw a video on Youtube where a guy attached an extrusion head alongside his milling spindle. He could print something and then mill it to finer tolerances. Unfortunately I can't find the...
Do you know if Sculpteo allows you to specify the orientation when printing? Shapeways doesn't. I've heard that i.materialise does.
Do Sculpteo and i.materialise have facilities in the U.S?
...
True, the burden is on you to enforce it. I wonder if the OP is confusing patents with copyrights. Most of the stuff you see on Shapeways and Sculpteo, etc., isn't patentable.
Steve S
They can try but the patent won't be valid due to something called Prior Art.
