Well, looks like things here are dying down a bit.
I took a bit of a break when I had one extruder clog...then another. Just didn't feel like messing with it for a while. But, now I'm trying to...
I didn't want to mess with things since I'd finally gotten the damned thing 100% dialed in for ABS. But I tried one with PLA, didn't even have to level the bed, and it's printing perfectly.
Call...
Welp, looks like my bed heater has gone out. Just sits at 18c no matter what I do. Contact my friends from QIDI, did a couple things, and now am apparently going to be waiting on parts.
While I...
I'm not a music person, so I'm going to go with "Smoke on the Water".
So, I've had something new and a bit concerning happen lately. Maybe it's nothing.
The last few times I've turned on my printer, the music has been distorted. Sometimes there's a...hitch in the...
Yeah, this time it made it to about the 4cm point before it went to hell.
I'm going to move it off center and head to the right instead and see what happens on the next one.
Yeah, I haven't tried the slurry method yet. However, with the AquaNet I've gotten it to about 3cm without it getting knocked loose. I'm using lefty.
Of course now I'm hitting the OTHER ABS issue...
Well, the filament I happen to have loaded is from Solutech, which I have to say, seems to suck hard. I've had very bad luck with it. I've got a different silver I Can try.
For everything PLA on...
My neverending battle with ABS continues. I typically have zero issues with PLA, but ABS causes me so many headaches.
Most prints, as long as I manage to get adhesion to the bed, I'm good.

I am having a hell of a time here with Hatchbox wood PLA. It just doesn't seem to want to flow smoothly. I'm about to do an attempt at the max temp listed in the spool (250c) but don't have all that...
Yeah, it's kind of mystifying to me too. I don't think I've had it happen with Hatchbox yet.
Just this morning, while printing my 5mm spacer, I had the print fail (and the dry box get yanked across the shelf to the printer, yay!) by a filament that was...badly spooled, so that it eventually...
I ordered 3/16ths, since that was recommended.
So, I ordered some borosilicate glass from McMaster-Carr and it finally arrived. I've got a print for a 5mm Z-axis spacer printing now.
Any special cautions or tips on this stuff? Just use binder...
You're just clipping the glass straight to the aluminum bed?
Alrighty. How are you attaching it? Specific brackets?
So, I managed to shatter two sheets of picture frame glass no my new attempted bed. Near as I can tell, it wasn't the heads crashing into the glass. Maybe it was the combination of the binder clips...
Yeah, I think the thing for me is that I don't know where they should be relative to each other. IIRC, the left nozzle, by default, is a hair higher than the right nozzle. To me it seems like it...
I did do it cold. So you're saying that by doing it cold, it's possible that I managed to tighten it too far, and as such it's hanging a bit lower than it should be?
...and on an unrelated note I had to take apart my heads to get a clog out of my left nozzle.
Mission accomplished, however, now when I'm trying to print ABS with it I've got the left nozzle...
Actually, with some more research I think I'm going to try some regular picture frame glass with these clips, unless someone cautions against it: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:570406
So, just something like this:...
So, question for everyone. I've just finished a weeks-long printing of a deluxe Catan board. The reason this matters is because I'm printing fairly flat, relatively thin pieces. Not that thin, but...
Alright, trying another set of pictures here.
This is a recent print (I didn't have the fan running, which I assume is why we have the melty lines, but ignore that):

Try this. Look at the circular flat end on both of them. On the yellow, it's a perfectly flat/smooth circle. However, on the blue (sliced) one, it's got lines running through the flat surface. Which...
