If you are using Simplify3d you can manually place the supports (as opposed to having them automatically generated), thus avoiding the problem areas.
Thanks. That looks interesting. I am assuming that the program is called Meshmixer, by Autocad.
I have a dual extruder FF Creator Pro. There are precious few STLs on Thingiverse that take advantage of dual extrusion.
I there any way to take an existing STL file and edit it to use two colors?...
Thanks Aardvark, I'll try that tonight
Hi all,
I am sure this has been answered before but I couldn't find it with a search.
I know that the FF Creator Pro uses x3g code instead of gcode. Is there any program available that lets me...
Surely someone knows the answer to this. I am just looking for real world information about PVA and moisture absorption. I know that the "books" say to keep it locked away in a low moisture...
I have been 3D printing since November, getting pretty good with ABS and now PLA. I think it is time to try out PVA for disolvable supports.
I have read all the warnings about not letting it sit...
I have found that ABS makes stronger objects but PLA objects have smoother, cleaner sides and look better. In addition, all of the PLA filament I have bought (5 reels) have much more vibrant colors...
There are other shims on thingiverse to account for glass thinner than 6mm. Just search for "creator glass shim" or something like that. Or just try http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:557994. I posted...
I didn't remove the aluminum bed. I went to thingiverse and printed some corner clips that holds the new glass bed on top of the built-in aluminum one. Look at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:546851...
The default "Bed Leveling Wizard" on the front panel just raises the bed without heating it. I didn't realize that it should be heated before calibration / leveling. How does one go about heating the...
I am new to PLA (I printed my first object Saturday). I have heard of the concern of moisture absorption and the need to store it with desiccant. What about the filament hanging on the back of my...
Hamster.
I am also new to FlashForge Creator Pro but I have about 2 months experience with a XYZPrinting Da Vinci 1.0. I had the same problem as you with my initial prints not sticking. Calibrate...
Thanks for the info. I didn't investigate the source very closely.
Do the lights ever turn off? Does that noisy fan ever turn off?
I got it last night and just had enough time to assemble and...
I just got my Creator Pro and I am printing the demo objects.
Question: Does this machine ever power down? What I mean is do the lights ever turn off and the fans stop? I had it sitting for about...
Hi All,
I am new to the FlashForge Creator Pro (it will be delivered today) but I have had a Da Vinci for a few months. I am familiar with printing ABS but not PLA.
According to the manual I...
