Ditto the below. I use Slic3r probably 95% of the time. A mix of Cura and Mattercontrol for the rest. Haven't tried Simplify3d mainly 'cause I'm a cheap SOB... ;-)

Agree with all that. Ask me why... ;-)
My bet is blown driver. Had this happen to me right around Christmas on my 10".
Bought 5 spares for good measure. Plugged a new one in and right back printing.

I quit using 70C for my bed temp with PLA due to adhesion issues.
Currently using 50C and hairspray with pretty good results.

FYI, 9/10 times I end...
I run PLA with about the exact same settings except for retraction speeds.
I'm using 1mm retraction and 20mm/s for the speed. YMMV

I suspect you're correct with the nozzle diameter comment.
I'm thinking that in the earlier versions, there was a common setting for all perimeters which was being set to 0.67 (0.4 nozzle plus...
Seems like that's the case. I haven't had much time to play around with the settings much more due to work (ugh!) constraints.

Have had my 10" i3v running for a month or 2 and have been getting pretty good results for the most part.
I'm currently only using PLA since I have had issues with the bed...
