Thanks to adafruit, you can now print using NinjaFlex on a Printrbot. They have created a 3D printable add-on that when put on the extruder prevents the Ninjaflex filament from buckling (a major...
Has anyone seen this latest Kickstarter project? It is a software built to allow people not familiar with 3D design to easily create items that can be 3D printing. The software uses blocks/pixels...
Has anyone tried the FilaFlex Filament yet? I've seen a lot of cool things that have been created using it, like prosthetics and shoes. Has anyone on this forum actually tried printing with it yet?...
This is all nice and all, but I don't know if people are really going to end up going out of their way to get bio degradable filament. In a perfect world they would, but I just don't see all that...
What would your suggestions be if I want to 3D print and design some custom wall plates for electrical outlets in my nephews bedroom? How would I go about designing something? Should I try and find...
LOL, I can only imagine. You'd think it would take weeks, if not longer.
This is a crazy printer. It can print a whole table.

Wow, they are pretty nice. It's funny. I just saw someone posting wedding rings on Thingiverse.
He actually printed his and his wife's rings out. Although they aren't the pretty things in the...
Turns out that this might be a hoax of some sorts.
Citron research has released a report stating that Organovo is nothing but a fluff company:
The entire document can be found at...
I don't think this is too far off. They are getting easier to use by the day. I think within a year or so, it will be almost as easy to print a 3D object as it is to print something on your regular...
I don't think 3D Printing will fully take off until someone can come up with some sort of invention to allow people to print large items at home without needing an entire room for their 3D Printers. ...
Do you guys think that we will see a similar evolution of 3D Printers, as we saw with Personal computers? By this I mean, price & size evolution.
For example, in the 60's, a PC took up almost an...
Honestly, how does it compare to MakerBot's filament, quality wise?
Wow, I'm very impressed with the speed of this printer! Does anyone know if it's the fastest consumer printer out their? It's 2X's faster than the Replicator 2X, and I thought that was one of the...
Solidoodle is a great printer for the price. You get more than you pay for in my opinion. I'd probably go for the Solidoodle 3 or 4 at this point though.
I kinda wish they would have done a crowdsourcing campaign for this printer. I would have backed it in a second if it were on Kickstarter or IndieGogo.
My name is Martin. I'm in. I just backed it. Seems like a really good deal for a scanner, that is capable of doing what the Digitizer does.
Ha, yeah those cables aren't too pretty. Seems like a good deal for the price.
I notice that they are only taking pre-orders now, and says you are eligible for discounts by pre-ordering. Does...
Guys, I have a small problem (perhaps a big problem). Anytime I print something that should be a perfect circle, it comes out as more like an oval. It still looks rather circular, but you can tell...
I'll believe it when I see it. I can't see the quality of food being very good, but I guess we will see.

I've read about this on other site. It ends up being about 4-10cents per cm3 depending on where you purchase the filament from. That means that Shapeways is making a very large profit.

Has anyone used a Solidoodle who has also used another one of the top name brand 3d printers out there? I would be curious to know how the Solidoodle performs when compared with the MakerBot and/or...
