Yeah, that print doesn't look all so great. Some of the objects they had on hand were cool though. I love Bre's beard! He looks good with it.
What was the first object that you ever 3D printed? Mine was about 1 1/2 years ago and it was a turtle that I found on Thingiverse. It got messed up and I ended up trying twice more before finally...
This is a really cool design for a working toy car

The design can be downloaded at...
The new TM1 printer looks to be using the same technology that the MOD-t does. I wonder if New Matter plans to do anything about this....
What would be the absolute strongest filament / material that I could print with on an FDM 3D printer? I know ABS is slightly stronger than PLA. Is there any sort of other materials that are...
I think it's about time they reduce the price of the Replicator 2 further. There is so much competition from other companies, they can't be selling very many.
I haven't seen or heard of anyone being allergic to PLA, but it is definitely possible. I would suggest trying again but make sure you have the medicine on hand.
Today, I saw a sale on the Prusa i3 DIY Kits at idea lab3d.
It's only 399.00€ including tax, which is a 80€ discount. Do you guys and gals think this is a good deal?
Has anyone printed with Polycarbonate filament? What are the temperature settings needed? I'm guessing around 270-290c. Is this safe for more hotends?
The stuff I'm looking at is the Bendlay...
May I ask you why you want to print in Silicon?
The kind guys and gals over at Filament Central have come up with a really cool 3D printed design / print of a bowtie. This is by far the best bowtie 3d print I've seen yet. Filamentcentral plans...
I think the difference you see in some of these has a lot to do with small details. The Digitizer will have issues picking up on the small details on small items. It also has to do with the person...
Wow DUDE! That's impressive. And for it to take only 10 days is even more so. I'm wondering how many pieces did you print, and how long did the entire printing process take you?
Has anyone seen Sandboxr yet? Looks like they went live during GDC 2014. What they do is allow anyone to take characters from video games, customize them and have them printed out and shipped to...
Wow, pretty cool stuff. Why haven't you tried it out yet?
I have a feeling that MakerBot has some different plans for their store, that we haven't seen yet. I'm hoping so at least :)
I really don't think you can classify 3D printing in the same group as PCs. It really a whole different monster. It will be a very long time before everyone has a use and is willing to use 3D...
I've replaced my print plate, and that's about it. I had a glass one that I totally cracked.
I use aluminum quite a bit, but it's more a pain in the neck to clean than glass. There really isn't any problem using it though. Not sure where you can get a bed either.
This looks interesting. I'm gonna keep an eye on the KS campaign. Maybe I'll even pledge :)
So does this mean that you can't buy the printer directly through Stratasys? Seems kinda odd to me.
Let's hope he's right. I agree that the 3D printers we see now are probably not nearly as good as what we will see in a decade from now. In 10 years we will be wondering how 3D printers of our...
Seems interesting. Is this mostly for business and investors? Or can regular Joes like me attend too?
I believe Rick (The designer) had to use a solder gun to smooth this out prior to printing. Pretty awesome designs. He's done a lot more too.
