The buildtak is pretty but it doesn't really work well at all, I've found. The blue painter's tape gives better results but still pulls up (often lifting the tape off the buildtak!).

This is the nature of the mechanical design of the printer and is normal. Look at the design of the print head - the nozzle is in front of the two rods that run left to right. The rods that run...
The tiny belts are pressed into toothed grooves on the bottom of the sliders. It's hard to tension and force it back into the groove but it is possible. I know it's less tight than it was when I...
There's only one fan.
Sorry, I wasn't clear - I managed to fix it and get it printing myself without sending it back to them.
I wonder if that's caused by the rolling surfaces of the long splines. Gears are a bit "bumpy" so the bed plate probably has a fair bit of vertical vibration as it rolls across them.
Keep in mind WD40 isn't a lubricant. You're better using lithium grease or something similar.
They eventually replied and said I'd have to pay shipping (about $50 each way) to get it to them and back. I decided not to do this and managed to glue everything back together on my own.
It's just far too delicate. It does work, sometimes - but everything is just hanging together by a thread. It's not robust at all and definitely not a "consumer ready" product. The software (and...
If it came in very small, you probably are modeling (or exported) your .STL file in inches. Export it in Metric/SI units (millimetres) and try again.
Has anyone found any YouTube videos yet from users? I can't find any except ones from the official New Matter channel. Was hoping to see some "raw" footage to hear what it sounds like and get a...
Page after page after page of spammers for the last several days on the official M3D forum. Absoltuely useless and impossible to use right now, has been like that for days with no end in sight or...
Still no user submitted videos on YouTube that I can find. Bummer, I'm really looking forward to seeing it print since New Matter haven't really released any "raw' videos just showing in detail how...
Damn that is a beautiful looking machine. Way better than the M3D.
Sounds like you just need to adjust the z gap.
New Matter just uploaded a whole whackload of tutorial videos on YouTube:

This is looking really good.
They keep showing off retail packaging on twitter. I would have thought that they would have shipped all their Kickstarter rewards first before making it available to the public, no? It says 6...
People who buy this at that price thinking it's a finished product are going to get a rude awakening when they find out they have to buy/build their own filament holder (because the built-in system...
That twitter post is from 2 weeks ago.
No, they actually recommend you don't use the built-in filament holder.
The spool of filament had a horrible twist/knot in it. Looks like the extruder climbed up the filament and completely tore the gantry apart, ripped the belts, etc...

What was the last update they sent out? Like what are they doing now? Has anyone seen a video of this thing printing aside from the 2 that show up on YouTube that are like a year old?
I guess I mean retail or whatever.
It's now been like 2 weeks since the last post from anyone at the company. Someone is posting all happy pictures to their facebook account, though. Nice to see...
How is this project coming along? I'd really like to buy one of these but want to see some in the hands of real people first.
This is exactly how the Stratasys Dimension printers work. You twist the build plate to get the model off.
