Nothing, you need to use 'Import' not Open to read the .stil but I've tried on two machines including a powerful MacPro and SketchUp just hangs. Suspect the importer can't cope.

Yup, that was my first thought and seems the simplest. But I've tried that, Sketchup just locks up when the .stl is imported :(

I've just stripped mine as a clog meant i had ABS spaghetti wrapped around the hot end. When I peeled off the kapton tape, whatever padding there was underneath it has turned to dust and crumbled. ...

After trying glass and ABS juice etc I have settled on Kapton Tape on the original bed. I'm getting great results with this and can swap the tape for a new sheet quickly and easily.

All resolved now. The grub screw had scored the tube so it was well and truly jammed in the metal bar. Managed to get it off, cleaned up the bits and re-assembled. Jobs a good 'un.
