This looks really cool. I've love to see who wins. I've tried 3D printing some pen holders but always have issues with infill.

If you have time, go for the MOD-t which is only $249. Unfortunately though it won't be available for several more months.
Just saw that this printer won the Best Innovation award at Computex from TomsGuide.
I'm curious to see how well the scanner works.

I'm pretty sure with most 3D printers, the strongest material you can use is ABS. Although I do see some new materials coming out, such as the bronzefill from colorfabb, which has particles of...
I just backed it for a very small amount. I hope they get it.
I haven't done any 'official' tests, but from my experience, the smaller the layers the stronger it is. However, it would also probably depend on the material used. I'm talking about PLA here.
I was thinking about the idea of the MOD-T and was wondering if there is a limit to the build platform size. After a certain point, wouldn't weight of the print eventually cause malfunctioning of...
Keep in mind that this is not an actual screenshot of the new Cura. Either way though, I'm looking forward to seeing what its like once released.
And where do you think 3D printing is at now? First Innovation?
I've been using Blender quite a bit, but I just discovered Open SCAD and have really been enjoying that a bit more.
I was wondering if anyone could let me know if heated print beds typically need any sort of specific glass, or is it mostly thickness that is important? If I need to replace my glass bed, can I go...
I'd love to see more Roberta! This is awesome!
This is really great. I'll definitely be backing them on Kickstarter. I'd be interested to see exactly how this thing works. Does it ONLY take paste, or can it take other materials too?
I've heard I should buy the Replicator 2X instead of the 5th Generation replicator. Do you guys agree?
I'm loving the Sonic White-Black and the Alzette Leather Wood. They are amazing looking. The Alzette kind of looks like muscle tissue is showing through the skin. Bad ass!
I think we will see some big announcements not only for HP, but also from 3D systems and Stratasys, as they try and keep up with HP.
On top of this, I think we could see something from Cubify,...
I've been running my 3D printing for several months now, and so far, I have been printing something every evening before bed. It seems like this is a hobby that I never get bored of. It's the first...
This looks really nice. Have you tried to print with it? I'm always hesitant to put anything but PLA or ABS into my 3d printer, as I'm scared it will jam or clog the extruder.
Lately I have been using nonscented hairspray on a glass build plate. Works like a charm 99.9% of the time. I don't understand why more people don't do this. It's a really affordable method and...
What is it that is being printed here?
I've seen this. My son was looking at it the other day. What are the prices to have the monster printed and shipped to you?
I hadn't even thought about the Elmer's Glue trick. I'm going to have to give this a try.
I just recently purchased mine from a buddy. I plan on trying to print some parts for to make another one though.
Wow, that's a short print period. I guess it makes sense breaking it down into so many parts because it shortens the print time. I would have expected that it had taken you at least a week to print...
I third that. I just wish that some of the filament makers could somehow formulate a filament that uses recycled material. It could effectly be cheap and desirable to purchase.
