That actually might be a layer height/model resolution issue. Try printing that tower test object again, the one you initially had good results with and see if it comes out like this.
Go back and re-read the original post. He is not asking for help with the banding, he is showing off the banding.
I'm getting rid of this guy.
5961 Some of us still remember.
I've been waiting for this to come up here, had this problem last Summer. No one on any of the forums I frequent had a solution, several diagnosed it as RF interference, but none of their suggestions...
It could be filament temp, but I doubt it. Try tightening the screws on your extruder's idler. If tightened correctly, the springs should measure just under 11mm in length.
Something along these lines is helpful for measuring temps. Probes are far more accurate than the infra red guns. Adding a fan to your Rambo will almost certainly solve your problem, just be sure to...
Just to be clear, the printer starts the print fine, then the extruder begins skipping over time without changes to any other settings, correct? More than likely that is caused by overheating of the...
I third TechMasterJoe and debovine on this. My current setup for 1.75mm filament uses a drilled out Greg's with E3D's PTFE (4mm OD, 2mm ID) going all the way through and into the v6. Liners are the...
I'm in for 6061. Just let me know what I owe you and I can pay immediately.
I use tinkercad for quick/simple adjustments to existing STLs. The convenience of browser based cloud editing is tough to beat if you don't need more sophisticated tools.
Large print beds are bad about warping. It's a very common problem and gets worse as the bed gets bigger. The simplest solution I'm aware of is using a thick piece of glass that's extra rigid; only...
Sorry, I've had issues with customs before. The hassle is too much.
Hey sniffle, where are you on this? I'll be throwing another v6 onto one of my printers soon and I really hate E3D's stock fan setup. Are the files you already posted current?
It is a JST SM connector.
That all looks great, good job! I'm looking forward to your results.
Supposedly leveling with everything heated up is the most accurate method, but I've never seen any better results from it . The extruder's springs should be compressed to 11mm when filament is...
G1 Z0.05 raises your head 0.05mm. For a single extruder printer, all the extruder offset does is change your print height with GCode during the start of a print. "Touching the glass" is not a unit of...
Currently, you're set too fast (especially for a small/thin part) considering the build quality of your printer. Getting good prints at higher speeds takes a fair bit of mechanical tuning (tightening...
Hah, just read through the beginning of this post and noticed how many other people have already given variations of my diatribe. Sorry to belabor the issue, just trying to adjust your expectations....
This. You have just located the price gap between a DIY kit and a tested, quality assured, finished product.
I have the most experience with Ultimaker products, so I will use them as an example....
That same thing was happening to me with Proto-pasta PC-ABS. My problem was solved with a combination of raising the temp of the hot end/lowering the print speed.
I know it isn't exactly a printer mod per se, but Gmay3 suggested I post my Folding Spool here:

It works great for sample/specialty filament coils!
