It is. The capacitor should have a 200 on it, the bad ones have a 100 on it.

It is. The capacitor should have a 200 on it, the bad ones have a 100 on it.
Since there was a lot of information flowing in this thread and some of what I was doing wasn't correct or incorrect I'll reiterate what I think were the main problems.
NUMBER 1 First layer....
Cool I'll try that. My Prusa MK3 should be shipping any day now anyway.
@3Dmark, do you think PETG is the easiest to print because you're using an Original Prusa and their slicer settings? I've had lots of problems. Well not lots of problems, but enough.
Originally I...
@3DMark, Looks good. Are you building a Filament dryer? If there's a tutorial out there that you used can you link it?
Here's some prints I did on blue tape and came out perfect. I printed one at...
It's very well possible. You can dry filament out. Just put it in an oven for 2 hours at 120 Fahrenheit, not sure what Celsius is, but do the conversion and you'll be good.
@ Curious, I just put...
That's funny. I tried to make a print in PETG last night as well. SAME DAM thing couldn't get it to stick to the bed for the life of me. I tried 6 times with different height and speed settings....
Ok so I've read up on calibrating my extruder. So I did the test with the hotend on and plastic coming out of the nozzle. It only extruded 86mm. I tried it a few times with pretty much exactly the...
Cool. Interesting.
Thanks. Weirdo though that's almost counter intuitive to everything I've read.
Can't tell what's going on. Don't think my nozzle is clogged, took it off and pulled all the stuff out. I see that if the extruded plastic doesn't come out straight when the Z is in the air that I...
Thanks very much for the suggestions. I'll check those out. I did buy some Taulman Tech-G as I know their filaments are supposed to be great.
As for the setting I understand what will work for me...
Further follow up. Just tried printing some small parts for a belt tensioner for my Maker Select Plus, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1784375, took 3 tries to get the small parts to stick to the...
Follow up. I just finished the last test. 250C 25mm/s No Fan. Prints great and strong, but not nearly as strong as the slower less hot ones. I think I'll go with 242C 15mm/s No Fan. Here a pic of the...
Ok so i'm a machinist and I build stuff and I just got into 3D printing about a month ago. Crap!! Addicted, already bought the new MK3 Prusa, CR-10S and a smoking deal on a new Monorpice Maker Select...
So I bought a CR-10S a few weeks ago and noticed it had the problems that people are posting about, with the capacitor and such. It prints great, but I asked the seller if they could send me an...
@ Curious, I'm building a stepper mount, but a cover. SO not strength involved, just for the strain relief. It's going on my CNC plasma table that I'm building so it'll be outside in the sun and from...
Hmm, ok. Interesting. Thanks.
New to 3D printing, but am a seasoned CNC machinists. I've a pretty good grasp of it though, I think. I'm using a new CR-10S stock. PLA prints perfect. PETG also prints perfect, but the strength is...
Thanks. I ended up using my digital dial calipers and then leveled the bed. Close enough. Prints come out great so far. Working with PETG now, so we'll see I plan on making the holder for the dial...
So I just got the CR-10S and there was no mention in the instructions about making the 2 Z axis lead screws equal, or rather in sync, with each other. So videos of other machines show you manually...
