I think the Sense is the best affordable one out there today. You could always use the XBox Kinnect as well.

I'm curious. What is the typical infill amount you use when 3D printing objects? I usually print with 10-35% depending on how strong I need an object.
My main question is what infill pattern...
Guys, can someone tell me what is wrong here. I just got a new 3D printer and this is what I get.

Looks like the funding goal was never reached for the Sedgwick. That really surprises me. It was a good price for an SLA 3D printer.
What would you suggest to someone that is going to use a 3D printer for the first time, and just wants to see how it works, but at the same time print something rather interesting?
Inspired by Miley Cyrus' Wrecking ball, this company made a pearl necklace which was first printed on a 3D printer and then cast in Gold. Pretty cool design. Terrible Song

Can someone answer this for me. Is SLA or FFF typically the faster process? I'm talking about 3D printers we would have in our homes (sub $5,000), not big industrial level machines.

Thought this would be an interesting question to ask the community. Who knows, maybe some filament manufacturers are listening.
What physical properties do you want in filament?
Here are a few...

This guy made a long blog post directly responding to you (Dragons_Blood).
These look amazing Lucy. Can't wait to see how this goes. I'm signing up for Beta now.
Here is a photo showing what this thing is capable of. Not sure if anyone would actually spend the money for this thing, but I suppose restaurants may.

In my opinion, many of these issue will be mute in the coming years. We are already seeing cost of equipment descrease, and the ease of use of 3D printers become a lot easier. These were the two...
This makes me sad. I hope that MakerBot doesn't go down hill as well. The Replicator 2 is such a good printer. I'd hate to see them unable to keep that quality of product in their stores.
I'd be curious to know what kind of resolution you get out of this thing. Also, how much did it cost you to build?
What do you mean by Youtube model? How would such a system work? Would ads be displayed on each photo of a design?
Thought I'd pose this question to you guys. If you had an unlimited amount of money and a full 2 car garage, what would your perfect 3D printing setup include? Would you opt for consumer based...
Hi, I have a question that I was wondering if someone may be able to answer. Is it possible to run two 40 mm fans with only one printrboard? Could I splice the wires and connect two fans?
I ordered some filament online, and I just got it yesterday. Normally when I get filament it is vacuum sealed in plastic, or has some sort of packaging date on it. This order had neither. I'm...
Looks Like MakerBot has a bunch of job openings available if anyone is interested. They include

It's cool technology, but I don't like the fact that it is a 2 step process. Liek mkapras said, it is both additive and subtractive. The positive is that it can use paper that has been writen or...
This is very strange. I haven't seen that before. Have you tried calling the manufacturer?
I'm pretty sure there are thousands of people that would love this. Do you care to say how you plan on making a 3D printer that prints in metal? Will it be SLS?
What type of surface do you put this on after taking them out of the Acetone bath? Also how do you get your items in and out of the bath?
Does anyone use custom G-Code Commands when printing objects? I know some people use custom commands to start and/or finish their print outs. I'd like to know of any that you people have found...
