GlowForge Announces $22 Million Series B investment Round From Foundry Group & True

After successfully bringing in $27.9 million in pre-orders during a 30-day crowdfunding campaign last Fall, the Seattle-based company Glowforge has just announced a $22 million Series B investment round from Foundry Group and True Venture. With this recent financial backing, Glowforge plans to bring their desktop 3D laser printer to mass production, and eventually into schools and businesses around the world. The laser printer utilizes subtractive manufacturing technology, and is capable of printing designs into a multitude of materials, including leather, hardwoods, fabric, plastic, paper, chocolate, and more.
