3D Systems Rolls Out the Touch Haptic 3D Stylus

Tools like the 3D Systems Touch Haptic 3D Stylus are meant to bring digital design and virtual gaming development from the complex world of designer-only participation to a wider audience. 3DS says the Touch Haptic Stylus will provide an entree to the science of virtual sculpting, and this new software tool can transform 3D modeling from a complicated, skill-dependent design experience to a simpler, more intuitive experience for artists, students, designers and hobbyists. You can read all about the Touch Haptic 3D Stylus and find links to the events at CES here: http://3dprint.com/35048/3d-systems-...ptic-3d-stylus

This is the most intuitive way to model organic sorts of objects, since you can actually feel what you're doing, much like using a tool on real clay. The article is a bit unclear, though, since the package it mentions as listing for $599 doesn't include the modeling software. That will be a bit more, depending on whether you want the entry or pro level software. It would be exciting if it really supported the Occulus Rift for modeling, since that would let you view your models in 3D as you worked on them. But as far as I know (and I'm a reseller of the Touch Haptic 3D stylus and software, although it's not up on my website yet) that hasn't been implemented yet.
