73 years ago today, the United States was forced into World War II as the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. On that tragic day over 2400 Americans were killed, and many others wounded. As many of you know the USS Arizona has since been designated a National Shrine, and is visited by thousands annually. The Shrine is constructed on top of the ship which is now decaying from rust. Autodesk and others have been working together to 3D scan the battleship and shrine, enabling them to track any further decay so that they can hopefully do something about it before it's too late.
