3D Printed Replica of Sir Frederic Leighton's famous Sculpture
London artist, designer, and 3D modeler David Rencsenyi is "starting from digital art... heading back to traditional art." The designer, who has been 3D modelling for over a decade, has taken off from the typical movie-magic 3D prints he does every day at work for Pinewood Studios and is focusing as well on his own art. With his own Form 1+ 3D printer, he has gotten an impressive start, with his first major project a 22-inch-tall statue that looks more like fine art than something that came from a desktop 3D printer. A reproduction of Sir Frederic Leighton's famous 'An Athlete Wrestling with a Python,' Rencsenyi's model demonstrates the impressive capabilities of an artist paired with the right tools. Nice, he almost pulled it off, other than the lower ribs at the front torso, it's spot on.
