Each and every day there is a new breakthrough in medical science. Now, thanks to 3D printing, these breakthroughs can be realized much quicker, and in a much more efficient manner. A project that has been being worked on for over 5 years has been utilizing 3D printing to quickly create working prototypes, as well as molds for casting of the products. This project aims to allow the blind to see again, and clinical trials have already been completed. Using a ProJet 1200 3D printer from 3D Systems, the Bionic Institute has been able to greatly increase the prototyping of their new device.
