3D Printed Skin Fusing Concept
Students at Brunel University in England have used a Form 1 3D printer to help conceptualize a futuristic device. The device, called "Suture," aims to replace the need for medical stitches, through the use of high-intensity focused ultrasound. These ultrasound waves would heat the skin and mend it back to together without affecting surrounding tissue. The entire device, other than the mock display screen, was 3D printed on a Form 1. Many post-processing techniques were used but the end results look like something that was manufactured via injection molding.
