    MakerMex MM1 Modular Paste/Plastic 3D Printer

Yesterday we saw Ord Solutions announce and launch their Rova-Paste 3D printer which was capable of printing with both paste and heated filament. Today another company, based in Mexico is taking this same idea a step furthers. MakerMex has just announced their MM1 3D printer which they will put on Kickstarter next month. The MM1 is capable of printing with both paste and heated plastic as well, but also features a modular design for quick printer upgrades. More details on this machine can be found here: http://3dprint.com/14825/makermex-mm1/

Below are some of the general specs of MakerMex's MM1:
    • Build Envelope: 20 x 20 x 20 cm
    • Printer Size: 49 x 37.5 x 49 cm
    • Printer Speed: 300 mm/s
    • Print Resolution: .03 mm layer height

Glad to see that paste extruders are indeed becoming the next big thing.

Just need paste extrusion with some kind of capping mechanism for the nozzle to allow a good 'retraction-like' function for a multi-material printer.
