    Painter's Tape for heated beds

I wandered into my local hardware store today to buy some Blue tape for my heated bed, and was nearly overcome by the range of tape specifications available. The specs seem to relate to the time the tape will stay stuck when it it used what it was designed for (masking off areas for painting). Here's what I found in tapes manufactured by Bear. The 3M tape was only available in blue.

Regular beige coloured tape: 24 hours
    Green coloured tape: 8 days
Blue or purple coloured tape: 14 days.
    Gold coloured tape: 60 days.

Since I like the colour, I bought purple and came home to run some prints using ABS. I got good adhesion from the raw tape (100 C bed temp)

Every reference I've seen here to painters tape has said that it is blue. Has anyone had experience with the other colours?

I know someone who used masking tape from the dollar store and they said that worked fine for them. I stick to the 3M brand as I tried a cheaper one and it was crap.

Thanks for the tip Old Man. I'm going to grab some of this at Office Depot today, and see how it performs.
