This character for the game can be printed in several pieces and assembled via ball joints as you will see in the images below. Any star wars fan out there considering trying this project? I'd love to see a finished painted project posted here. The print time will take 3-4 hours depending on what 3D printer you use.

12 Kits for each faction, so 36 kits in total.

Dioramas, vehicles, droids .. you name it! I am currently getting Kit #2 ready, which has a massive starter kit in it, 1/4 of jabbas palace and figures.

I will only be posting the Star Wars game on Thingiverse. I don't trust Makerbot at all, and the only things safe on there are things they CANT steal for themselves and try and patent. I.e Star Wars.

Copyright and Patents cover different topics. Copyright covers the 'expression' of an idea. Not the idea itself. Patents cover the actual invention, not necessarily the expression of the idea.

If some famous author paints a picture of a famous bridge from a certain location and Copyrights it... It is perfectly safe to stand in the exact same spot and take a photograph of the bridge. The expression of the idea is different. If some author writes a Boy meets Girl, Boy loses Girl, Boy gets Girl back war story and Copyright's it... It isn't likely you would run into trouble writing a book with the same theme if you didn't copy anything from his book. The expression of the idea would be different.

If this bozo can sell this on CG trader, then I can release mine at no profit. That's one of a billion on there, so either CG trader doesn't care about the legal side, or there is a clause saying fan works are accepted - but I would have thought at no profit.. this clearly is profit where mine is not.

If I ever get a letter from Disney, they will get a response from me of over 1000 links to sites selling star wars things. When they deal with those, I'll take that letter seriously, if I ever get one.

It turned out to be a pretty popular little figure, its only been out under a week and it's topped my things on thingiverse..
