We all know that 3D printing is slow, so it can't be used in a mass manufacturing approach. If you need thousands of units churned out each day, you turn to other more traditional forms of manufacturing. That's until Google and 3D Systems got together for Project ARA. They are seeking to create a 3D printer production line of sorts, capable of printing out millions, or even billions of smartphone modules annually. The technology is being provided by 3D systems, and the phones will begin selling sometime next year. More details here: http://3dprint.com/3288/google-3d-sy...ra-smartphone/

What do you think, will Google and 3DS succeed in their drive to transform the manufacturing floor with 3d printing technology? How valuable could this be worth to 3D Systems?
