Giant 3D Printed Model of Manhattan

Imagine stepping into a room with a giant 24 foot map of one of the most iconic islands in America, Manhattan. Think such a site would would impressive? Now imagine if that 24 foot long map was actually 3D printed. Instead of a map, it is now a scaled model of the iconic borough of NYC.

That's just what Vick Art Advisors has had created. They wanted something which would draw attention to an area of their corporate space, so hey hired Sparks 3D Design. Sparks decided to use Quickparts.com, a 3D Systems run company, to help them complete the task. Quickparts used 3D System's Projet 860 3d printers to print out the 3d model in 28 sections, each 15X15 inches in size. Check out the finished project as well as some images of the team working on it:

I wonder what he plans on doing with this once he finishes it. Does he plan to donate it to a museum, keep it for himself, or sell it? I imagine he'd have people lining up to buy it.
