Hey! -New Member
Hey! My name is Drew and am hoping to get my own 3D printer and start printing "twisty puzzles."
Twisty Puzzles is an umbrella-term which refers to the standard (3x3x3) Rubik's cube and the plethora of variants.
I've designed on SolidWorks and have had my design printed by ShapeWays (here's a link to it)
It's been nice to see that a 3D printer can be had at a relatively low price (my budget is about $500, but can spend more if it's necessary to get an adequate model). I'm not expecting perfection from a low-end FDM printer, but have seen individuals make puzzles with them through sanding and other post-print processes.
This printer, although relatively cheap, looks as though it gets the job done well:

Thank-you for taking the time to read! Looking forward to following-up with progress!

the printer you linked to on amazon is unavailable.
best buy for $500 is probably the wanhao duplicator i3 plus: http://wanhaousa.com/products/duplic...us-steel-frame

Purchased an Up! Mini 2. Small volume, but am not planning on printing anything very large. Expecting it to arrive Dec 1 - 6.

Printer arrived and has been great! Started off with something easy (a 1x2x3 I found on the site "Thingiverse").
Turned out great and turns very nice with some silicone spray. Am working on my SolidWorks skills and will hopefully have a good design soon.
