As a need for aircraft replacement and expansions due to more travelers is set to emerge in the next few years and decades ahead, the aerospace industry is looking ahead and making plans for future innovations that will increase efficiency. Airbus and Renishaw, known for their engineering and additive manufacturing expertise, will be working together to create new innovations in wing design. The project they are working together is nicknamed 'Windy,' for the Wing Design Methodology Validation program, which has joint industry and UK government investment from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), supported by the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI).
