Valve's Steam Machines Controller is 3D Printed
We all know that 3D printing is being used more and more in prototyping, and that's just what Valve is doing while creating their new Steam Machine game controller. There were reports of people actually trying this 3D printed controller out, and thinking it was the actual controller that will be sold. Rest assured that this is only a prototype of what the real thing will look like.
Valve is using 3D printing to prototype the controller in order to ave a ton of time and money. By 3d printing the controller they can quickly make design changes within hours, not days or weeks, while saving hundreds of dollars for each design they go through. It does appear that this prototype will likely be close to the Valve controller which will ship with the Steam Machine. They ststed that they are still working on a final design, but have been showing this on off at GDC. What do you think?? If you look closely you can see the 3D printing lines:

after you release the controller can I have the stl to print one? I have always wanted to do something like that
Do bed magnets deteriorate.
