Microscopic 3D scanners?

I'm a jeweler and would like to be able to scan pieces. I've looked briefly for scanners but have not found any that have the specs to do the resolution that I would want. I was hoping that someone here would be able to point me to a product that can scan a space of approximately 25 mm x 25 mm cube at a resolution of .001 of a mm. Does such a product exist? If not, what is the closest thing?

There are scanners like that; the Rexscan, for one: http://solutionix.com/rexcands3/ But scanning jewelry is tricky, because it's usually shiny, which confuses optical scanners by reflecting the light, and they're often set with transparent gemstones, which do crazy things with light.

And they will cost you 10's of thousands of dollars/pounds/euros.

There is most likely a simple water soluble spray you can use to prepare the aprt for scanning, so that's not really an issue.
But you are talking about industrial level scanners and they are very very expensive.
