Hello all, well, I'm getting ready to purchase my first 3D printer (just waiting for either of the 2 models I have in mind to become available - both are OOS), and I want to learn to model my own objects.

I have very basic experience with Solidworks, but I want to create more interesting objects, rather than parts... yet, I want the objects I create to be both artistic and functional. That is, while I want to model interesting shapes and geometries, I suppose I still need accurate dimensioning.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the software I should invest my time learning to create the kinds of objects shown here: http://www.oobject.com/category/3d-printed-products/
Specifically, objects like #'s 14, 16, 17, 19.

I have access to most 3D software, and I already own Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor (student license). Looking for the best rather than the most economical. Appreciate any advice.
