This year’s Inside 3D Printing in Düsseldorf was held as part of the METAV 2016 conference from February 24-25th, and because of that there was a strong focus on metal 3D printing, but the theme was definitely in how additive manufacturing is changing our world. The keynote speaker, Jeff DeGrange, Chief Operating Officer at Impossible Objects, spoke specifically of all the sectors that are being transformed—from the automobile to medical industries, and plenty in between. Oberfranken’s Concept Lasers was awarded the International Additive Manufacturing Award (IAMA), beating out 15 other companies, due to their innovative monitoring system that allows 3D prints to be monitored individually during manufacturing.
