We hear more and more about 3D printed medical models being used to treat cancer, and especially for helping doctors communicate with patients about their condition and treatment path. David Grim, project leader at Radboud Hospital's REshape & Innovation Center, prefers the Ultimaker 2 Extended 3D printer for the models he prints of patients' brain tumors. Affordable and easy to use (even a brain surgeon can use them!) these 3D printers help Grim and everyone at the Center communicate with patients thoroughly while also giving them a tangible visual model of their own physical trouble spots. Yet another excellent example of 3D printed medical applications: this time for treating patients with brain tumors.
