Dr. Rogelio Escobar, a Professor of Psychology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, believes that hands-on laboratory experimentation is crucial for students to fully understand theories. Unfortunately, due to lack of funding, many schools do not have the facilities or equipment for laboratory courses. Not to be dissuaded, Dr. Escobar 3D printed and built his own operant conditioning chamber, a device invented and made famous by psychologist B.F. Skinner. When the students used the chamber to perform their own experiments, Dr. Escobar found that they learned much more than they would have in a lecture-only environment.
