Filament that is safe to integrate with metal welding and/or coating with metal

Hi all, I'm just learning how to 3d print as of recently and I really wanted to integrate some brass or copper into some of my work. Is there a type of filament you guys recommend? I use a Makerbot Replicator currently.

You could print with bronzefill or copperfill filament. They tend to polish up quite nicely. The copperfill can get a quite nice green tarnish, too.

don't bother with the brozefill or copperfill - post processing is a real pita.

Just get the reprapper tech copper, bronze or brass filament. No polishing or sanding needed :-)

But you won't be able to weld/solder to plastic filament.

Yes you can coat plastic parts with metals - couple of diy threads around here somewhere.
And you would be able to solder to them. just remember if you coat plastic with metal - that plastic will still melt inside the metal coating when heat is applied.
