LUXeXcel announces 3D Printing of Optics Have been Taken to Next Level

The Netherlands-based company LUXeXcel has just announced that they are taking the 3D printing of optics to the next level. They have announced a new material called LUX-opticlear which can print much thicker, up to 20mm. Additionally the company will be rolling out a new streamlined ordering and uploading system which will be 100% secure. The changes to their platform make 3D printing optics for small and mid-sized jobs a better choice than injection molding according to the company. Dutch company LUXeXceL has released to a limited audience a detailed report regarding the quality of the lenses produced using their Printoptical Technology. The researchers subjected samples printed using a variety of technologies to tests for light transmission, light diffusion, and yellowness in order to gather precise information about each method's optical qualities. In all three of these categories, Printopitcal technology was the clear front runner. Additional details on this research and the results that LUXeXceL was able to present can be found here: http://3dprint.com/69512/luxexcel-report-3d-print/

The LUXeXceL Group are the world’s first 3D printing service for optically transparent products. The company's groundbreaking additive manufacturing technique builds optical components such as micro structures, arrays, prisms, and freeform lenses. They say the a lack of visible layering and no need for finishing means their 3D printed plastic optics are ideal for illumination, photovoltaic, and prototyping applications. The company is a 2015 finalist for the prestigious Prism Awards. You can read the whole story here: http://3dprint.com/82276/luxexcel-ta...-finance-round
