Recreating the Fallen At Pompeii Via 3D Printing
As the casts of the dead from the destruction of Mt. Vesuvius on Pompeii are in heavy demand from those around the world who would like to see them in an exhibit, WASP was chosen by the Special Superintendence for Cultural Heritage of Pompei, Ercolano and Stabia to work on restoring them in 3D models so that they could be sent to Canada and then eventually to other countries as a traveling exhibit. Using the DeltaWASP 3D printer, WASP is able not only to provide great detail and resolution in their 3D models, but is also able to contribute to their very important cultural heritage--and the history of all our world. Additional details on this awesome story, and use of 3D printing an be found here: http://3dprint.com/74401/wasp-3d-pri...odels-pompeii/

That seems like a good use for 3D scanning and printing, but the quality of the prints they showed was really awful.
One thinks they could do better, for such an important project.
