Talking High volume production of 3D printed parts

Let's say I wanted to 3D print an aluminum part of 1"x1"x0.5" that has complex geometry in DMLS. The volume is 55,000 over a 6-month period. A quote from a 3D printing company will most likely be around 6-20 million or so. Is it worth investing in these machines for in-house production rather than outsourcing? The piece-cost can get into the high $200's but needs to get down under $10. Is this currently feasible?

    Many thanks!
