How to print files off Thingiverse?

Hello,
I am very new to all this so please bare with me.
How do a print files off thingiverse?
I have downloaded them and i cant put them into Cura or google sketch, i don't really know what i am doing at all, so please explain simply!

Did you download makerbot desktop? Find the files there, click on settings and select your settings, then click export file. Save it to an SD card and start to print.

Well it won't do him much good to put them into makerbot desktop or a SD card if he's not using those approaches. (My printer uses XYZware and a 'fixed' Sd card)

Print them just like you would any other STL.

I assume you have a 3d printer right? If so, which one, and what software are you using?

Ultimaker 2, and using Cura.
I'm very new to this and this is way outside my specialties.

Well, there's only one file, and it's an STL.

Print it like you would any other STL file.

Slice the STL in your slicer, and print it.

I don't have an Ultimaker, so I can only tell you what I do.
Open Cura.
Drag the stl file into the Cura window
Adjust your print settings
File/Save GCode
From there, it depends on your computer/printer interface. I just load the gcode file onto an SD card and go.

you download the file
then you click show in your drive ( or where ever else it is from)
then go to your software to prepare the model
the software that you use should have a instruction guide
follow those instructions. but also consider what is the realistic specifications this would be the time do so .
then select the appropriate materials for your purpose
then you can print it off from there but please follow all the manuals that are provided to you

plug the printer into the usb port on your computer. Switch the printer on.
switch the computer on.
Install cura.

Go and find the quick start manual that came with the printer and READ IT !
That will walk you through cura (which has built in manual) and how to load a file into cura and how to then print that file to your printer.
And where the on off switch on the printer is.

I appreciate you are new to this. But that does not mean you don't have to read the manual rather than getting a bunch of people on the internet to basically type it out again for you :-)

Don't have an ultimaker - but given how good they're supposed to be I can't believe they don't come with a quick start guide.
