    Genesis 3D Printer (Noobie)?

So I'm new to the 3d printing world and would like to dive into it. What makes a good 3d printer and where do I start learning? Also, would something like the Genesis 3d printer on Kickstarter be a viable option for a price range of $300-$400?

well if it's on kickstarter - then factor in at least 18 months to 2 years before they actually ship a working model - if it ever ships.

Personaly give the huge variety and choice of kits for under $500 (if that's your budget) currently available that will ship today. I wouldn't be buying a 3d printer from a crowdfunding site at all.

For that price range look at printrbot or a rep rap kit. At least it ships within weeks and you'll have support to help you with the first steps.
