Roy Stuart built his first surfboard at the tender age of nine, and by that point, he'd already been surfing for five years. Now Stuart uses 3D printing technology and biomimicry to build fins for his classic boards which optimize the flow of water beneath the surface and improve the handling of boards for surfers around the world. Working with Palmer Design and Manufacturing in New Zealand, Stuart looked to whales and shark skin for inspiration.
